travis’s brain dump

OK, I have to. :)

With the recent death of the late Michael Jackson, I figured it was only fitting that we pull out the ole Cebu prisoners video of ”Thriller” in his honor. Despite the controversies surrounding this individual and the constant allegations against him, one thing remained constant, he was an incredible inspiration to dancers all around the world. His breakthrough moves laid the groundwork for much of today’s entertaining dance moves that we enjoy in movies, on tv and in music videos. May “Wacko Jacko” rest in peace.

Members of the US Congress, grow up.

by Travis on Jun.26, 2009, under Politics, Rants

Well, folks, with all the action going on over in Iran, you might want to start looking at that as a possible glimpse into the future for us. I’m serious…

If there is anything that has become more evident to me today in following this latest bill that Congress just motioned through is that our government has stopped *working for us* and started *thinking* for us.

Seriously. Has anyone actually looked at the pipe dream that is this bill (HR 2454)? Take a good long look at http://energycommerce.house.gov/Press_111/20090515/hr2454.pdf - but keep in mind that’s even missing the 300+ page amendment that those slimey bastards slipped in this morning at 3:09am. Henry Waxman, you’re an idiot.

So, nowhere online can you find any support for this bill unless you’re some die-hard tree hugger who thinks this scheme is actually going to work. If you do, you’re even more confused and even more of an idiot than we thought. Then again, maybe I’m wrong… Maybe this is what you really want… you like living off the land and having no modern conveniences, right?  I mean, this  is exactly what you’re going to have when you can’t buy anything since the cost of your energy takes your entire paycheck. But you like that right?

Seriously folks. There are so many better ways to go about cleaning up our energy usage but the provisions in this bill will destroy this country from the inside out. Aside from that, this is a prime example of the government *NOT* listening to their constituents. 219/212 – at least some of them got the picture, but for those 219 pocket lining, no good, creators of excessive CO2 (blower of hot air), you better believe if this passes through the Senate, your day will come. Your days of living it up off taxpayer money and enjoying your inheritences will be over next election. That is if an angry mob of people who’ve lost their jobs due to your ignorance doesn’t beat you to election day. *shrug* Just stating the facts here folks.

Today the phone lines were jammed with people trying to voice their opinions on this bill. SO many in fact that the lines we overrun. The people answered the call by Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana who said, “Call your congressman, right now!” from the House floor as the chamber seemed near a vote.

CNN quoted in their article a Rep from Texas:

“I can’t begin to tell you how many calls we’ve received,” said Rep. Charles Gonzalez, D-Texas. “And it’s disproportionately vote ‘no.’”
Gonzalez, who voted “yes,” believes special interest groups generated many of the calls on both sides, including the late surge of negative feedback.

*PRIME* example of Congress deciding for us without taking our input into consideration. They chalk it up to ‘ special interest group generated calls ‘ – yeah, the special interest group is THE CITIZENS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WHO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TRYING TO DO!

So, what’s next? After we’re impoverished and we have no fight left in us, are you going to dissolve the Constitution of the United States so you can have your supreme power? Get a clue folks, that will never happen. As people start to feel the American Dream die, you can bet history will repeat itself. So quickly has our government forgotten how they even came to power. The people put you there with trust and hope and you’re showing you’re no different than the British Empire of 1776.

/soapbox

ps. Henry Waxman, you’re still an idiot.

Ahmadinejad, grow up.

by Travis on Jun.25, 2009, under Rants

Seriously man, what the heck is your problem!? Other than the fact you’re obviously suffering from paranoid delusions concerning the world around you?

So I’m sitting there reading this article today on CNN where he’s all upset because he feels Obama is meddling in Iranian affairs and makes comments like:

“Do you think that this kind of behavior is going to solve any of your problems? It will only make people think you are someone like Bush.”

“You are at the beginning of your way and you are gaining experience, and we do not wish the scandals of the Bush era to be repeated during your term of office.”

“We hope that you will avoid interfering in Iran’s affairs and somehow express your regret so that the Iranian nation can become aware of your regret. If there is real change, the Iranian nation will welcome it.”

Seriously, this guy has got some MAJOR issues… Is Obama sitting out in front of your house telling ‘ yo momma jokes ‘ and dictating to you how to run your country? No. Is he calling you twelve times an hour to rub it in that his people aren’t currently rioting in the streets? No. Is he faxing you detailed memo’s on how you should fix this situation and peacefully quell the violence there? No. He’s simply stating facts about your country and the things going on over there, observations, information, nothing more. That’s not meddling. He’s trying to keep his country in the loop on what he knows as well. Maybe you could take some lessons? Besides, who really cares what someone is saying outside your house while you’re inside.

I’ll give ya this, the closest thing to advice was stating “It is not too late for the Iranian government to recognize that there is a peaceful path that will lead to stability and prosperity. We hope they take it.”

OH NO!!! HE JUST THREATENED INVASION IN THAT STATEMENT!!!!! *rolls eyes*

Give me a break man. We have a description for people like you here in the US… teenage drama queens. If anyone sounds more like Bush here, it’s you… Let’s see here… You’ve lost the respect of a good chunk of your citizens, you make false statements, you ramble on because you have nothing truly important to say but still like to hear yourself talk… shall I continue?

Face it. You don’t control anything, you’re just a puppet for the Ayatollah and it gives you an inferiority complex that makes you feel the need to lash out at everyone to boost your feeling of self importance. That about sum it up?

At the end of the day you’re just a normal human being like the rest of us, small and capable of mistakes just the same. Just admit you’re wrong, look for the way to fix the situation and stop yapping to just have something to say. Who cares what the world is saying? Your country is tearing itself apart and all you can do is whine about how you feel the rest of the world is calling you out. Ignore the rest of us, focus on your people and fix the situation at hand. The rest of the world will still be here for you to call liars, thieves and meddlers when you’re all done.
